Black women in America are more than three times as likely to die from maternal causes as White women. This is a national public health crisis that demands urgent action. As a new Congress prepares to take office, we must call for stronger maternal healthcare, greater accountability, and meaningful legislation to protect mothers. No woman should die giving life because her healthcare system failed her. America, our mothers cannot wait.
