Footprints-Foundation.org is a Florida-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in DeLand, Florida. Our local and global mission is to reduce maternal and infant mortality and morbidity through culturally sensitive, evidence-based training for doctors, nurses, midwives, and traditional birth attendants.
We are proud to serve communities in Jamaica, Ghana, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Somaliland, empowering those on the frontlines of maternal care with knowledge, tools, and compassionate support.
We also stand boldly in the global movement to end Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)—advocating for the safety, dignity, and rights of girls and women everywhere.

Around the world, one woman dies every 90 seconds in pregnancy or childbirth — that’s more than 350,000 women every year from complication of pregnancy.
Giving birth is especially risky in Southern Asia and sub-Saharan Africa, where most women deliver without skilled care.
Almost 3 million of all the babies who die each year can be saved with low-tech, low-cost care.
The vast majority of these deaths are preventable.
EVERY DAY APPROXIMATELY 500 GIRLS AND WOMEN WORLDWIDE DIE FROM THE CONSEQUENCES OF FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION.
