A Taste of Northern Lebanon

Olive oil is more than an ingredient in Lebanon—it is part of the land, the table, and a culinary tradition stretching back thousands of years.

The Eastern Mediterranean is one of the ancient centers of olive cultivation, and Lebanon remains home to generations-old olive groves and indigenous varieties that reflect the character of its landscape.

Northern Lebanon is particularly important to this tradition. Regions such as Akkar, Koura, and Zgharta have long been associated with olive cultivation, where local varieties thrive in the region’s distinctive soils and Mediterranean climate. Among Lebanon’s traditional olives are Baladi and Soury, varieties prized for their character and oil production.

Cedar’s Café Extra-Virgin Olive Oil brings this heritage to the table. Produced from olives grown in Northern Lebanon, the oil is cold-pressed and unfiltered, preserving the distinctive qualities of the fruit.

This is olive oil with a sense of place—a connection to the Mediterranean landscape, Lebanese culinary traditions, and the simple pleasure of gathering around a table.

At Desert Sage, we believe that what we bring into our homes should have quality, provenance, and a story.
